The Buddhist Path to Freedom In 9, Easy-to-understand Steps

Two Paths: We Choose Freedom!

Buddhism is most often presented in one of two ways:

  1. The teachings are offered for self-help, to heal trauma, or to fix you or your problems.
  2. A path to liberation is pointed out. With your effort plus help and support, you can find freedom.

Powerful teachings in ordinary language

The path to liberation has been practiced for centuries by ordinary women and men, just like you.

Centuries of cultural misunderstandings, the veil of academic scholarship, and religious institutions can obscure these teachings. Freedom Road's goal is to make these powerful teachings available to you, now.

Freedom becomes your choice!

9 Steps Along The Road To Freedom

Let's begin by telling the truth.

Finding "Freedom" takes work.

Staying free requires commitment.

For centuries, a path to freedom has been handed from one generation to the next.

It begins with finding your desire to step beyond ego, and with the inspiration that freedom is possible.

Any course that promises freedom in a weekend, freedom without effort, or freedom without you having to change offers unrealistic promises.

Freedom Road offers you a chance to explore the Buddhist path to liberation in 9 easy to understand steps.

Difficult to understand ideas, are presented in easy-to-absorb, contemporary language.

  • Here's an example: བདག་འཛིན (Dak-dzin) is often translated as ego.
  • Ego has so many meanings in our language, our culture, therapy, and more.
  • Dak-dzin means 'holding onto yourself in a way that harms you.'

You might call that ego. I call getting beyond Dak-dzin, getting out of my own way.

If the goal is to get past ego (Dak Dzin), it helps to know that you are not trying to forget you exist. Instead, aim to let go of being self-centered in ways that harm you.
